UDO Street Dance Syllabus

Rhythm Nation UDO Syllabus

The UDO Street Dance Syllabus is designed to enable dancers to gain accreditation from the Intro 1 and 2 grades through to a teacher level. It introduces the foundations in all styles of street dance. The syllabus is suitable for dancers aged 3+ to take the examinations and work their way through the grades to eventually gain a fully recognised teaching qualification in street dance.

Classes open to all dancers, not just competitive dancers. Please contact Natasha Stewart to discuss which level is best suited for your child to start with. (Beginners or Intermediate.)

Classes for ages 3-7 years, a fun and friendly introduction to ballet lead by Natasha, Principal Teacher, who will help your little one become the ballerina they’ve always dreamed of. There is no pressure of exams. Instead the children will be rewarded through encouragement and end of term certificates/ performances.

  • What to wear? - For your child’s first class we aren’t expecting you to come wearing the full uniform, leggings and a top plus bare feet is fine. Once enrolled we ask for children to have ballet uniform which is now available to buy through our website (Click Here)

Lyrical dance is performed to music with lyrics to inspire movements to express emotions. Lyrical is a free flowing style of dance and complements ballet really well.

Opportunities

All senior dancers get the chance to help assist in younger classes. Here they learn to create and lead safe warm ups and stretches, how to encourage young children, pass on confidence and discipline, time management, and problem solving skills. They are all awarded via the SALTIRE AWARDS at Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action for the hours they volunteer. Some have achieved over 500 hours and are now ambassadors, which has helped secure some students a place in University and even the Scottish Youth Parliament.
