Natasha Stewart
My name is Natasha and I am the director and Principal Teacher here at Rhythm Nation Dance and Fitness.
I started dancing when I was 10 years old after watching a performance from the local dance school in my hometown area. I always loved to dance, but fell in love from the moment I started going to classes.
I trained at the Scottish School of Contemporary Dance, (Dundee) from 2007-2011 and graduated with a B.A Hons Degree Dance Competition Award.

My experiences include working with vulnerable/ disengaged young people, using dance as a vehicle to gain more personal development skills. During this time I gained my SCQF Level 8 Professional Development Award in Conduct the Assessment Process, qualifying me as an SQA accessor.
I have been teaching here in Stonehaven for almost 10 years now. Throughout that time I have huge experience working with the local schools and have enjoyed building a relationship with the community here.

Outside of work I love playing at the beach with my own little girl, and generally all things outdoors. Interesting fact – I once did a shark dive and a sky dive to raise money for charity, (on separate occasion of course.)

I started volunteering in my local classes, which then led me to achieve The Summit Saltire award. This guided me into my teaching career which I have been doing for almost 10 years throughout multiple areas in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire. I have also been apart of Natasha’s competition team and have competed across the UK and even Disneyland Paris!
I love being part of the RN family because it allows me to create a fun and safe environment for dancers to express themselves and also do something I love each week! Being part of our team leads to so many amazing opportunities and when we all work together we achieve huge things for our dancers and company! I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for us all!

I started dancing back in 2013 with Natasha and I danced in the recreational classes then proceeded on to the dance teams. I loved every second of being a dancer with the company! It gave me a real confidence boost and I truly don’t believe I would be the person I am right now without dancing. Now having taken a step back from the limelight, I now am a teacher and the joy I feel being able to provide a safe space for lots of children is amazing. I am able to see the positive impact it has made on the kids I teach and nothing compares to that for me!
